...is a game with a unique movement mechanic. You move by activating your jump pack, which gives you a sudden burst of speed forward. Use of this ability is disabled until you bounce off a wall or defeat an enemy. This creates an exciting game where platforming and combat are closely linked to each other.

About:

Context:    Student project during my first year of studying                 Games Engineering

Engine:     Unity

Language: C#

Team:       2 Games Engineering Students

Duration:   1 Year

Details and Takeaways:

This game is the result of the year-long course "Game Lab 1", which is a part of the games engineering studies curriculum. Students are tasked to come up with a unique game mechanic and create their own game based on that.

During the project, I've created scalable and flexible gameplay systems. The game mechanics have been designed with the player in mind, and additional feedback systems were built for ease of use. I also balanced the game's complex mechanics in relation to each other and adjusted the balancing based on player feedback.

For my accomplishments in this project, I received an offer for a student teaching assistant position. For the past year, I have been helping to teach other students in subsequent iterations of the "Game Lab 1" course and continue to do so.
